Christians Believe In Science or Bible?

The Bible preaches that the Earth is flat, but do modern Christians still believe in this? Do they still believe in the infallibility of Bible? When they go to school and learn that the Earth is round, and later even see that the Earth is indeed round in TV, what goes in their minds? Was Jesus (or who ever said that the Earth is flat) wrong? Is it possible that the satellite cameras are seeing an optical illusion while the Earth continues to be flat? How can Christians lead a schizophrenic life of illeterates while in the Church and the life of the educated while at homes and offices?

These were the questions that struck me when I saw a news item that said the present Pope declared the incarceration of Galileo as "reasonable and just"? This remark of the Pope started huge protests in Rome's La Sapienza University and the Pope had to finally cancel his vist there to inaugurate the new academic year. Clearly no one would even remotely dream that such a dogmatic figure should inaugurate the academic year of a top University!

If not all Christians, at least the Roman Catholic Christians, owe an explanation to the community in general on their dogmatic views. But even before that, what do they believe in, Science or Bible?

To help our Christian compatriots decide for themselves and not get carried away by the conviction of the pope, I have a picture of planet Earth below:
